Women’s basketball scores upset

The Owls appeared to be unintimidated by the nationally ranked squad from George Washington, as written by The Temple News.

Still, much of the talk surrounded a change in the team’s starting lineup. Coach Dawn Staley plugged in fine-faced, freshman Lindsay Kimmel to the starting lineup. Kimmel, who has perhaps gotten more attention from fans for her looks than her licks, was focused on the court. Tonight, with the start, she hit five three pointers for a career high 15 points. All of her 12 shots were from behind the arc.

The girl can score – having topped 2,000 career points in her high school career – but the question is if this women’s team, in what some thought would be a rebuilding year, can remain an A-10 goliath.

This upset came just two nights after the men’s team upset No. 20 Xavier, as The Temple News reported.
