We hope last year’s class of 2009 graduates aren’t this desperate.
As reported in today’s Metro Philadelphia, two Temple alums – Troy Wragg, 28, and Amanda Knorr, 26 – were charged “in a $30 million Ponzi scheme” for scheming folks into investing their retirement savings in “‘carbon-negative’ housing and other green measures.”
Wragg worked for Mantria Corporation, a company based in Bala Cynwyd that specializes in “green community development, mortgages and sustainable industrial products, BioChar, BioFuel and BioEnergy production, socially responsible investing, health and emerging markets, wealth education and global philanthropy,” according to its Web site.
If proven guilty, Wragg will have broken Mantria’s motto to “enhance and improve the quality of life for all of our customers, stakeholders and friends.”
Even former President Bill Clinton was deceived. Wragg tweeted at from TwitterBerry : Just got finished with the Clinton Global Initative, where we were awarded by Pres Clinton on stage for our work and commitment with BioChar
Jobless Temple grads: chin up. At least you’re not facing criminal charges.
