As Mayor Michael Nutter signed a City Council bill banning cell phone use while driving, the Pa. House of Representatives passed an amendment that would strip Philadelphia of its share of the gas tax, and would also deny Philly bridge and highway funding.
The house says that the ban is in contradiction to PennDOT codes.
Hence, they have to punish Philadelphia for trying to make its streets safer, apparently. Because, you know, there’s nothing more important to work on, like the biggest recession in decades, or cops being murdered en masse by assault weapons.
You stay classy, Harrisburg.
