OOPS. This is utterly painful. If you’re a sucker for grammar and spelling, I suggest you stop reading now. This is a gory one.

Peabody Residence Hall recently established a blog, titled “Peabody’s Palet.” Well, like many of you, upon first glance I thought to myself, “Hm. ‘Palet’ isn’t a word that I know of, let’s look into this.”

Lo and behold, it would appear, judging by the photo on the top border of “Peabody’s Palet,” that it does indeed refer to an artist’s palette, spelled like that. P-A-L-E-T-T-E.

And actually, upon a Google search, “define:palet,” I found that “palet” is indeed a word. According to Google, however, it refers to “a round, thin wafer of plain chocolate used for tastings.” So, unless Peabody’s not telling us something, it’s looking like they made a big, bad spelling boo-boo. YOWZA!
