CSI traveling exhibit comes to Philly

Listen up CSI junkies: The Franklin Institute will host “CSI: The Experience” Oct. 1- Jan. 1– an interactive forensic-science exhibit based off the crime drama “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

The hands-on exhibit will walk visitors through a simulated crime scene investigation from start to finish. Cast members from the show interact with guests through large video monitors while they travel through mock crime scenes, laboratories and autopsy rooms. Guests will be immersed in hands-on activities while learning the ins-and-outs of modern forensic science.

So if you find yourself dusting the refrigerator handle with a make-up brush to figure out which one of your roommates stole your food, you might want to attend this exhibit and learn how to gather evidence from the pros.

Folk rock legend Bob Dylan to play Liacouras Center

Temple’s own Liacouras Center has played host to some high-profile events since it opened. Perhaps one of the biggest will be on November 9, when folk rock god Bob Dylan and his band take the stage. Tickets will go on sale Monday, October 12 at 10 a.m.

A seemingly immortal force in American music, Dylan has been recording albums for over four decades, becoming one of the most prolific songwriters in history. His songs have been covered by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, U2, Dave Matthews Band and hundreds more artists.

This is sure to be a once-in-a-limetime concert the likes of which Temple has never seen.

Place to check out:

Grocery (101-105 S. 13th St.) – Best place to grab lunch on the go in town. Known for their salad bar (which stocks all sorts of pasta salads, sushi and grilled and glazed tofus), Grocery also offers sandwiches, soups, coffee, organic chocolate bars and pastries. I’d recommend the Falafel, Hummus and Feta wrap. The shop is a bit pricy, but the food they sell is mostly vegetarian, with plenty of tasty vegan options and lots of gluten-free and low-fat and -carb items, too.
