Temple approved a 2.9 percent tuition increase today at a meeting of the Board of Trustees. The increase is lower than most past years. According to Ray Betzner of university relations, Temple has increased its tuition an average of 5.9 percent over the last 10 years.

The tuition decision comes two months earlier than usual. University officials said the early decision was to help parents and students make decisions about school.
