Who made bank? PARADE Magazine says who

The PARADE Magazine slipped into your Sunday paper has released its annual “What People Earn” report, and a Philadelphia sheriff made the cut.

The “Real People, Real Salaries” segment of the report features Sheriff Dave Dougherty, 42, who reportedly made $47,800 last year.  Though respectable, it’s pocket change compared to Houston-based John Arnold, a hedge-fund manager who made $1.5 billion last year.

Despite the pay difference, Sheriff Dougherty might have more in common with comedian Will Ferrell, who pulled in $31 million, since, according to ‘Doc’s’ Web site, he is an “actor, comedian and voice artist.”

On another note, be sure to consistently pick up a copy of The Temple News before the school year’s end since an upcoming issue will feature a full list of what Temple’s head honchos are getting paid.  To see an outdated preview from the 2006-2007 FY, click here and scroll down to page 34.

Temple must have a population more rowdy than Alaska, as President Ann Weaver Hart was pulling in $465,000 two years ago, compared to Governor Sarah Palin, who made $125,000 last year.
