Character actor, Temple alum Prosky dead at 77

Robert Prosky, probably best known to the younger generation as the TV station owner in Mrs. Doubtfire, died today. He was 77.

Prosky was a famous character actor in movies and on Broadway and most recently performed a one-man show at the Walnut Street Theater last year.

Before joining the U.S. Air Force, Prosky was an economics student at Temple.

The family said instead of sending flowers, one can make a donation to the Actors Fund or “just go see a play.”
