Men’s basketball coach Fran Dunphy has his hands full with perennial power Duke University tonight, so he’s making certain his team takes the most direct route to the game. Right down Broad Street.
Dunphy and the entire team will take the orange line to the Wachovia Center for their 7pm game against No. 9 Duke, according to Cherry Crusade members, a university organization of Temple student-fans. Whether it will make a difference is yet to be seen. In the midst of a stretch that pits Temple against against the likes of Villanova – a 101-93 loss – and Florida – a Dec. 29 loss – Temple lost to Duke last year, a 73-55 loss last season to then-No. 5 Duke.
“Obviously, there are some really good basketball teams that we will play,” Dunphy told The Temple News after the Villanova defeat.
