It appears that the time for exchanging pleasantries is over for the Democratic Presidential candidates.
In a Temple News online exclusive, LeAnne Matlach reports on last night’s Democratic Presidential debate at Drexel University, which featured the candidates volleying several criticisms at one another, in addition to hurling accusations at the Republican Party.
While Sen. Barack Obama, D.-Ill., attempted to downplay the hype surronding his “feud” with Sen. Hillary Clinton, D.-N.Y. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson essentially told his fellow candidates, six of whom are current or former senators, that history is not on their side:
“The last senator that was elected president was 40 years ago. His name was John F. Kennedy. We elect governors as president …”
The next Democratic National Committee-sanctioned debate will be held in Las Vegas Nov. 15.
