Temple nurses may strike

Temple’s nursing union is threatening to strike if a new contract is not approved by September 30. Their contract expires then, and Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals officials say they are concerned about the attitude the university is taking. The university has responded that they feel their offer is fair and competitive.

Pennsylvania has a budget!

Pennsylvania finally has a state budget, which came 80 days late and after significant damage was done to townships and non-profits, who rely on state funds. Theater and the arts are being taxed, as are the small cigars known as cigarillos (Black and Mild’s may be the most common example).
